48 Questions....

This is not a D related post.   48 Questions is doing the rounds & I thought i'd give it a whack.

So if you're only interested in the D (or if you have a low boredom threshold) please surf away now.

But i'm kinda wondering if i read this in the future will i agree with answers i give today? (i'm consistently inconsistent with my opinions, and it drives my wife batty).

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?

 

I was named after my maternal grandfather.   He had 6 daughters and one son, and no-one named after him so my mother called me after him & my paternal grandfather.    He passed away when i was only 3 months old so i naturally have no memory of him but my mother thinks my personality is very like his.

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?

 

I'm not much of a crier and only remember one specific occasion - watching John Hayes crying during the National Anthem when Ireland played England for the first time ever in Croke Park....(I may have had to blink pretty hard just now watching this again).  Its about a minute in and for any non-rugby fan he's the big bald man 2nd in the Irish line.  You'd probably have to be irish to understand all that this meant at the time but it was huge ------ and we WON (smashed them actually!!).  

 

Not much of an emotional insight on that one i'm afraid.

 

 

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?

Yep, i love hand writing both in English and old-Irish script.

 

 

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?

Ham

 

 

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?

Four bundles of energy, 3 barbarians and one princess.

 

 

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?

 

This is a hard one, i'm quite reserved and dont like to make friends so i think i'd be more like an acquaintance.

 

 

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?

Not really, and only to crack a joke; mean sarcasm is just that, mean.

 

 

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?

 

Yes.

 

 

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?

Not a chance. 

 

 

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?

A mixture of muesli, nuts, dried fruit and whatever else is in the kitchen.

 

 

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?

I dont want to be on my death-bed thinking of all that wasted time, so, No.

 

 

12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?

Nope, i can be quite emotionally hard but i dont know if thats the same thing.  (I can swing a mean sledge hammer, but i dont think that is what the question was aiming at).

 

 

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?

Ben & Jerrys' Phish Food or plain vanilla.

 

 

 

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?

Depends on the person.

 

 

15. RED OR PINK?

Hmm, pity green or blue isnt an option, so i'll go with red.

 

 

16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?

Hard question to answer honestly, so (deep breath) - lack of self confidence (i'm shutting up & moving on now).

 

 

 

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?

 

If i stretch back in time it would probably be my grandmother.

 

 

18. WHAT IS THE TECHNIQUE THAT YOU NEED TO WORK ON THE MOST?

Saying what i think.

 

 

19. WHAT COLOR SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?

Boring brown.

 

 

20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?

Ahm, extreme honesty now - i just snaffled a few jelly babies from my daughter's low supplies......there's plenty left........

 

 

21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?

Only the dishwasher and the central heating (its a damp dismal January day here in Dublin (the land of alliteration.........apparently); so for modern life its pretty much the sound of silence.

 

 

 

22. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?

Strange question; i truly have no idea (nor do i have the imagination to think of one).

 

 

23. FAVORITE SMELLS?

Roses in summer (i'm much more into smells that sights in the garden).

 

 

24. HOW IMPORTANT ARE YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS TO YOU?

 

Pretty important. Although i wont use a direct label for myself; there are very few of us who are black or white on all aspects of our lives. 

 

I do refuse to be cynical about politicians however; i feel the constant belittling of politicians in our media disregards the damage that this can do to our respect for democracy.

 

 

25. MOUNTAIN HIDEAWAY OR BEACH HOUSE?

Beach house on a cloudy day(i love swimming in the sea, but i burn like a really easily burnt thingy, my skin is a touch paler than milk bottle white).

 

 

26. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?

Whoa, loads. Cycling, running (especially distance), triathlon, hurling, Gaelic football (if Dublin are playing), international rugby, occasionally soccer but i'm not a huge fan.  

 

 

27. HAIR COLOR?

It used to be brown, now its a brownish-greying mix, unfortunately it seems to be undergoing some kind of hair-evaporation process at the minute.

 

 

28. EYE COLOR?

blue-green

29. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?

Nope, perfect 20/20, so there mam (she used to give out to me for reading late into the night).

 

 

30. FAVORITE FOOD?

Anything my wife cooks.

Cinema - happy endings, at home - scary movies (i.e. finger on the fast forward button).

Cardio.  Running or cycling.

Jeans (i.e. my leg is pretty much my mousepad).

The sound of the kids playing.

Pretty much everything, mainly classical, also electronic, heavy metal, irish trad, 80's and 90's. 

 

42. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?

Honeymoon in California - landed in Los Angeles, drove to San Fran, Vegas, then over to Grand Canyon and back to Los Angeles.

43. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT?

No.

44. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?

Dublin.

7 doors down from my mother's house. I'm a home bird.
