Four Monthly Hospital Visit

So we're back with the hospital on Wednesday.   I just spent the last 2 hours writing up the log-book (its not as bad as it sounds, we use the p.c. and a spreadsheet to track sugars/insulin, but the doc. likes it in a log book in the format she's used to, so each visit we write up a month or so worth of numbers).

There is nothing like looking back at the figures to make you feel that you could have done better....but i wish i could apply the 'same s**t, different day' phrase to what we're doing, its more like 'different s**t, groundhog day' - the idea of trying to spot patterns seems easy enough on the surface, but my god the currents run deep with D.    I still believe that there is an 'all the inputs = an output' formula but at the moment its only a belief, i see precious little of patterns in reality.

Anyway its report time card - i reckon the writing up of the log book is me cramming for an exam, and wednesday morning is me & M standing in front of the doctor, feeling about 12 years old, being told what we're doing wrong, and (oh feck) there is the hbA1C to get (a bad reading is 'not enough control', while a good reading is 'too many lows').   Whatever the result of the hbA1C i reckon it'll be understating the facts, because, as its now April we have missed any impact of Christmas, and K had some awfuls runs of highs at that time.

But its late, so i'm prob definitely not making sense, having said that i never thought the phrase  '7.4 at 1a.m.' would have any significance for me, even less make me happy, (hmm, better check again at 2a.m. just in case we have a repeat of that weird (out-of-nowhere) during the night low of last Thursday).
